Who is Angela Winfield?

angela-hall-picture

Despite being declared legally blind at age ten, being severely depressed, withdrawn and suicidal at age 14 and going totally blind at age 20, Angela Winfield graduated from high school at the top of her class, graduated from two ivy league institutions, passed the bar exam and became a practicing attorney, published author, a community leader and successful entrepreneur- all before reaching age thirty.

Angela shares her story and the practical skills used to overcome obstacles in her life: blindness, self-doubt, image issues, extreme shyness and lack of confidence, and how she stopped letting these things limit her in order to achieve success and attain happiness and fulfillment. She gives her audiences and clients the four “keys” to unlocking their true potential and for O.P.E.N.-ing the doors to success. She speaks from experience and, everyday in her own life, she still utilizes all the keys and principles she discusses. Her story demonstrates the strength of the human spirit- something we all possess, but don’t always tap into. Angela will help you tap into that tremendous power so you can realize your dreams and find your own happiness.

My Story

Angela Winfield was born and raised in Newburgh, New York where she attended public schools. When she was 4 years old, she was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis, cataracts, glaucoma and uveitis. During her childhood, she underwent numerous eye surgeries to correct and control her vision loss. However, when she was 10, Angela was declared legally blind. Throughout the rest of Angela’s primary and secondary education, her vision slowly deteriorated. Nevertheless, Angela persevered. She excelled in her academic studies, taking all honors and advanced placement classes. Angela was inducted into both the National Honors Society and the National Foreign Language Honors Society.

After graduating from high school, Angela attended Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City. During her sophomore year, Angela suffered from a flair up with her uveitis and permanently lost all use of her vision. Not only did Angela persevere, she was further impelled to succeed. She continued with her studies at Barnard and even studied abroad in London at Queen Mary College for a semester. She graduated with her class and earned her bachelor’s with a combined major in Political Science and Human Rights and a minor in Religion.

Angela then attended Cornell Law School. This is where Angela discovered her love of advocacy. She actively participated in moot court competitions in two of which she placed as a quarter finalist and semi finalist. She served as a law intern at Cornell Legal Aide where she represented clients in employment, social security and criminal matters. She also clerked for an acting New York Supreme Court judge. Angela graduated from Cornell with a Juris Doctorate and a concentration in advocacy.

Angela practices law at a top 250 law firm. In addition, she has gone on to become a real estate investor and serves on the board of directors for multiple not-for-profit corporations.

After realizing the impact of her success on others, Angela started spreading her message and sharing her system for success with others. Her mission is to motivate, educate and inspire people to reach their highest potential. She wants to help people create lives they love living so that they can contribute to the collective good in the world.

Coaching

Angela helps you overcome blindness- physical blindness, emotional blindness, blindness to opportunity, blindness to your worth, blindness to your path to happiness and success. Blindness is not just a physical sensory condition. People are blind in many different ways and blindness can show up as feeling like something is missing, feeling lost, stuck, hopeless, confused, , or constantly searching or wishing for meaning or purpose in your day to day activities.

If this describes you, ask yourself:

Are you ready to regain your vision?
Do you want to be happy, take it to the next level, or discover your true potential?
Are you trying to find a solution or answer to a recurring or lingering problem in your life, or encountering an obstacle or feeling that you can’t seem or know how to overcome?
Do you feel like there is something else you are supposed to be doing
with your life, but don’t know exactly what that something is?
Do you want to be more empowered, effective and dynamic at work or at home?
Do you want a partner who is 100% there to support and guide you on your journey?

If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, contact Angela now!
Angela offers 1-on-1 coaching programs designed to get you to where you want to be.

Angela, I just had my biweekly meeting with my boss and Wow, what an empowering experience that was! I used the strategies we developed in our coaching sessions and I left the meeting feeling very much in control and not deflated like I had in the past! I am feeling really good about what I have been able to accomplish so far and where I am going. Our coaching sessions have really helped me focus and start to be a better planner. Although we’ve only had three sessions, I am already starting to feel like I am creating a better and more successful me!

– Sarah Favro, Development Manager

Inspiring, encouraging, motivational, informative, and humorous–Angela Winfield is everything anyone could ask for in a guest speaker. Our students and staff continued to comment on Angela’s presentation many days after it occurred. We were very fortunate to have Angela present to our Cornell University students in the Office of Academic Diversity Initiatives. I’ll always remember how the students were seated and ready to hear her message way before the presentation was scheduled to begin. There were many questions and answers afterwards from students and staff. I can truly say everyone who attended Angela’s presentation benefitted from what she had to say. We are forever grateful to Angela Winfield and look forward to having her back for another presentation at Cornell!

– Vanessa Lillard, Cornell University

Angela’s presentation was outstanding. The information she provided was life-changing for many of the 150 women who attended this year’s conference, per their feedback. She was one of the most inspirational women who spoke at the conference. Her combination of knowledge, talent, and unique ability to connect with attendees encouraged women to set and achieve significant goals. In addition, she served as a member of the team that helped design this annual conference to ensure that the content is relevant to our goal of inspiring women to live in and on purpose.

– Gwendolyn Webber-McLeod, Founder, You Can’t Fail Conference

Angela, You are an inspiration to us all. So many of us use our short comings as excuses for not doing or accomplishing things. You are proof that desire is more important than anything else. Continued success to you and thank you for answering personal questions.

– Avis Sell

Your words really resonated with me and are definitely an encouragement in so many ways… You are inspirational!

I thank you for the seminar and you are inspirational. I’ve had problems with depression most of my life, and I enjoy hearing positive people who overcome obstacles.

– D. Lockwood

Your extraordinary ability to overcome your disability is moving and a true testament to your ability to constantly endeavor. Though I do not have any disability, your remarkable story really challenges me to strive for more in my own life and reminds me that obstacles are meant to be overcome. An inspirational life is meant to inspire and you’re doing just that.

– K.S. Dunna

I do not have a disability, none-the-less your story inspired me and added to the mental hope chest I carry with me everywhere I go. To me the story was just as much about looking fear into its eyes and not blinking first, as it was about overcoming obstacles.

– J. Brock

I just read the WSJ article featuring you and wanted to write you a note to express my admiration for your spirit and your courage. You are an amazing inspiration and living proof that you are, and can do, what you think. I have no doubt that you offer your clients a unique and unmatched perspective into their legal issues.

– J. Bass

Just wanted to reach out and say keep up the good work. Without question, your story has inspired many people.
